Burn! Baby, Burn!

So of course as you all know, we've had these fires going on for quite some time now and even though my family and I are not victims of them, It's devastating. We went to denny's this morning and the place was packed...i mean literally PACKED with evacuees who spent the night there. My gosh, it was horrible and I can't even begin to say how grateful I am that, alhumdullilah, my family and I are okay and the fires didn't hit our area of Chino Hills. Chino Hills State Park is really close to where I live, but we didn't get any fire. No evacuees, nothing. I can only imagine what it would be like to have my house burned down. We saw homes on the news that were burnt to the ground and one even burned while the family was gone. It's just horrible and I can't stop thanking Allah that I am not in the position of those families and children. The CHSP fire has been blown out but ashes are everywhere, even where I live and the smell is horrible...but a bad smell is better than a burnt down house. My prayers go out to all those families who had to evacuate or lost someone and to those who were injured....

but on a positive note...
school is closed down! and it's not positive because I get to miss school, it's positive because our school is being used as a shelter for all the evacuees...as well as diamond bar and ayala high school. I think i'm gonna volunteer at Ayala.

Anyway...if you're reading this and had to evacuate, lost someone or were injured during these fires, my prayers and condolences go out to you. Stay positive. Everything, inshallah, will be okay.
